Goals for me to achieve

Okay, so im really looking into doing the study abroad program in Ireland in a few years (its at Dublin Institute of Technology). I have to finish up the Verrazano Program @ CSI first and foremost. Hopefully it'll still be available when im ready and able.

ALSO, fashion designer, Patricia Field (who was the costume designer for Sex and The City) posted a bulletin on myspace about a summer internship available.   Here was the bulletin:

"Patricia Field Online (
www. patriciafield. com) is seeking an Ecommerce intern. This is be a great summer internship (start immediately!) and will be happy to participate with you for college credit.
We might have a very busy summer ahead and this would look great on your resume and it is a very fun work environment.
You should be excellent with customer service, customer correspondence, grammatically correct at all times, an excellent speller.
Punctuality and responsibility are musts!
Simple HTML editing and photo-retouching skills are preferred qualifications. You will also be required to assist on photo shoots.
Please email a photo and a resume to julie@patriciafield.com. Applications sent through myspace will not be considered, and we prefer that resumes be walked in, but there will be leverage for the right candidate.
You will be asked for references, so be prepared or be a super-star and submit them with resume"

I would absolutely LOVE to do that internship, but i have no experience in html editing and photo-retouching skills. Im writing about this because the bulletin made me realize that you dont have to go to college for a specific carrer in order to obtain it. Ugh, i cant put it into direct words right now because mom is blasting The View and its grogging my head... Basically what im trying to say is that just because im not going to college for fashion and photo-editing doesnt mean that i cant get experience in that business and actually work for it. That one internship could open up more and more opportunuites in that work field  and could even land me a job in there if i ever desired to do so.

I am definitly NOT saying that I am going to quit college. Im staying in the marketing major, im just saying that im going to broaden my horizons so if ever another opportunity pops up i can try out for it.

So im starting my goals:
1. Learn how to do html editing and photo-retouching. Maybe they have a class or something i can take.
2. I'm also thinking of taking horseback riding lessons in New Jersey. I need an outdoor activity for me to do.

Horseback riding sounds wonderful! I will be volunteering at the stables soon enough and learn to ride as well. So we can ride together!

You're absolutely right, you learn the traits you need for the real world in the real world. College is just to get a degree. And all a degree means is a higher paycheck. You can always get into any jobs you want, nothing limits you. Businesses just will pay more for a degree.

I love you kt!

P.S. there's a study abroad in england/ireland area that focuses on the myths and literature of King Arthur. I'm hoping to be apart of it in a couple of years.
